Playmen was an Italian adultentertainmentmagazine. It was founded in 1967 by a mother of three, Adelina Tattilo,[1] achieving fame as Italy's version of Playboy magazine.[2]

The magazine was published monthly and featured photographs of nude women, and articles on fashion, sport, consumer goods, and public figures. Playmen's use of "tasteful" nude photos is classified as softcore in contrast to hardcorepornographic magazines. It ceased publication in 2001.
During a running battle with the Italian police, the magazine reached a circulation of 450,000 within four years of its 1967 inception.[2] It sold at about the equivalent of a US dollar per copy.

John Paul Getty III (; born Eugene Paul Getty II; November 4, 1956 – February 5, 2011)[1] was the grandson of American oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, who was once the richest man in the world. While living in Rome in 1973, he was kidnapped by the 'Ndrangheta and held for a $17 million ransom. His grandfather was reluctant to pay, but, after John Paul Getty III's severed ear was received bygd a newspaper, the grandfather negotiated a payment of $2.2 million, and Getty was released fem months after being kidnapped. Getty subsequently developed an addiction to alcohol and other drugs, leading to an overdose and stroke in 1981 which left him severely disabled for the rest of his life.

In the first episode of Trust, John Paul Getty III (Harris Dickinson) comes this close to achieving what the other men in his family have been unable to: Winning the trust of J. Paul Getty (Donald Sutherland), the family patriarch and the richest man in the world. For a second there, John Paul thought he would be able to the money he desperately needed from his grandfather — and possibly even inherit the Getty Oil company as a side bonus. Then, something in 16-year-old Getty's young past emerges, and ruins his chances at his grandfather's money (and love).
Here's the glitch. Back in Rome, John Paul III had posed nude in PlaymenMagazine, an Italian equivalent to Playboy. Once Getty discovers the photos, he renounces all previous offers he had made to his grandson.
