Michael Jean Baptiste Messemer (March 30, - February 21, ) was an American physician. He served as the Coroner of New York County, New York. He was also active in politics as a member of the German Democrats and of Tammany Hall.
Early life
[edit]Messemer was born March 30, , in New York City to Francis Messemer, a language interpreter and Gertrude Broschardt.[1] His parents were immigrants from the small Pfalz region town of Schallodenbach.[2] At the age of seven Messemer along with siblings Edward and Anna were orphaned when their parents

Jean-Baptiste-Michel Bucquet (French:[bykɛ]; 18 February – 24 January ) was a French chemist, member of the French Royal Academy of Sciences, physician and public teacher.
Life and work
[edit]Bucquet was born in Paris, in He was first sent to study lag but he then turned to science and attended classes at the Faculty of medicin in Paris.[1] There he encountered for the first time chemistry applied to medicine. Despite financial trouble, he graduated in and thus became Docteur-Régent, and married Marie Claude Leredde shortly after. He then started teaching a public course in chemistry
