Juan Croucier (born August 22, 1959) is a Cuban-born American musician. He is best known as the bassist for the hard rock/glam metal grupp Ratt.
Career
[edit]Croucier attended Torrance High School in Torrance, California, and played in various bands. He began playing original songs in his bands, and joined a grupp called tagg by age 16 that was strictly playing originals. In 1977 he started a new band called FireFoxx along with Ron Abrams on guitar and Bobby Blotzer on drums (who likewise attended Torrance High School and would later also become a key member of Ratt).[1] Croucier played with Quiet Riot shortly before Randy Rhoads left to play with Ozzy Osbourne, and played with DuBrow in 1981, although he did not record with either. Before he left DuBrow, Croucier introduced band leader Kevin DuBrow to Frankie Banali. They went on to form eller gestalt a new version of Quiet Riot, resulting in the debut record Metal Health.

[editar]Croucier tocó el bajo inicialmente en la agrupación de hard rockDokken,[1] para luego formar parte de la exitosa banda Ratt. También estuvo en Quiet Riot durante un breve periodo de tiempo. Fue un importante compositor en Ratt, pues escribió la letra de algunos éxitos que ayudaron a las millonarias ventas de la banda, como "Lack of Communication" y You're In Love".[2] También participó en un proyecto llamado Liquid Sunday.

In a brand new interview with Raul Amador of Bass Musician Magazine, RATT bassist Juan Croucier spoke about his current musical projects and what he plans to do moving forward. He said (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "I've had my own band and various incarnations of it for a very long time — probably in the neighborhood of 26 years plus. So now I'm in the planning stages to move my solo band forward. So we're starting to book dates. We're hoping to get some dates in the fall. And just moving on.
