    Colors fracture, shapes surface, and tillsammans the two work in tandem to continue Josef Albers’ exploration of minimalist, geometric compositions. Judith Seligson’s new exhibition Drawing the Line is comprised of elegant, cheerful examples of shape and color getting well acquainted.

     

    How did you begin in geometric painting? What was the initial spark of inspiration for you?

    I developed a series of charcoal drawings in my first studio, in Cambridge, MA in 1973, just after inom graduated from Harvard, that presaged everything that was to komma. I was drawing from life; both the studio itself and a vase of my mother’s dead roses were my subjects. Despite charcoal’s propensity for infinite shades of gray, I funnen myself using the charcoal simply to outline discrete

    Pawel Nolbert is an independent artist, illustrator & designer currently working from his studio in Warsaw.

    During the past decade he gained experience creating visual work, design and art for brands like Google, Adobe, Nike, Sony, Polaroid, Mercedes-Benz, Microsoft, Red Bull, Squarespace, Disney and many more companies, agencies or studios. Projects ranging from key art for global brands, through interactive, posters, animation or branding materials and other things where visual matters”.

    Squarespace project consisted of two main parts: static hi-res key art images, one logo-based and one abstract, operating within the same visual language, and an animation/bumper that featured the Squarespace logo.

    Atypical-Series of posters exploring form and rhythm of letters or pseudo-letters presented as half-realistic, half-illustrative figurative paint sculptures.

    Damjan is an interaction and interface designer that over time fell in love with prototyping and inventing new products. He is currently working as an industrial designer in Palo Alto. His latest project is Rhei (hellorhei.com) – the electro­mechanical prototype of a liquid clock that uses magnets and ferrofluid to tell time. Before that he had an opportunity to work for several amazing startups and influence the design and architecture of various apps and services, experimenting with different technologies.
