Paul Alexander Nolan to Star in Jimmy Buffett Musical Escape to Margaritaville
Broadway vets Paul Alexander Nolan (Bright Star), Alison Luff (Matilda), and Lisa Howard (It Shoulda Been You) will head the cast of Jimmy Buffett's new musical Escape to Margaritaville. Dates and complete casting for its world premiere production in May at La Jolla Playhouse will be announced in the coming months.
Escape to Margaritaville will include brand-new music, specifically written for the musical by Jimmy Buffett, along with many of his hit songs. The original story was created by co-book writers Greg Garcia (My Name Is Earl) and Mike O'Malley (Shameless).

Theatre has survived another year, and audiences are returning to performances in greater numbers. But there are still too many empty seats to celebrate a return to pre-pandemic levels.
Only the most popular shows sell out these days and the uncertainty of sales is frightening to even the most celebrated companies.
Here’s to a better 2025 and a major return to prosperity in the theatre world. And here’s to seeing you in a theatre soon.
