    In a world so full of tragedy, disaster, pain and suffering, when such things happen in a place I know well and have visited multiple times, it resonates even more powerfully; I extend my deepest sympathies to the people of Magdeburg, who are enduring the horror of sudden loss following the senseless attack on innocent people, including little children, at the Christmas Market last evening, a place which should have been full of happiness but became a scene of carnage, a time of peace and hope destroyed by the evil actions of just one person.
