Miguel Terekhov, 83, Ballets Russes Dancer
Miguel Terekhov, a dancer with the two leading Ballets Russes troupes of the s and '50s and a co-founder, with his wife, of the School of Dance at the University of Oklahoma, one of America's leading university dance programs, died on Jan. 3 at the home of a daughter in Richardson, Tex. He was 83 and lived in Oklahoma City.
The cause was complications of fibrosis of the lungs, said Camille Hardy, associate professor in the School of Dance.
When Mr. Terekhov arrived at the university in it had only one dance course, a modern-dance class taught in the department of physical education. At his retirement in , the School of Dance offered a wide range of courses in ballet, modern and other dance forms.

Early life
Terekhov was born on August 22, , in Montevideo, Uruguay.[1] His mother, Antonia Rodriguez, was a Charrúa Indian, a people indigenous to Uruguay and southern Brazil.[1] His father, Mikhail Terekhov, a former dancer, immigrated to Uruguay from Ukraine.[1] At the age of 8 or 10 Miguel Terekhov watched a company perform in his hometown and knew he wanted to perform.[2] He built up the courage to ask his father if he could take ballet class; this is when he learned that his father was a professional ballet dancer.[2] Miguel's father taught him the basics
