    Raphael (born ) is an American musician and composer of ambient music.

    Biography

    Raphael F. Sharpe was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in [1] Raised by Benedictine nuns, when his family got ill, he learned classical music and Gregorian chant.[2]

    In , he participated at the San FranciscoSummer of Love, masquerading as a velvet-caped European count playing gypsy style violin. He studied piano at the San Francisco Conservatory. From there he moved to the Esalen Institute at Big Sur where he worked for ten years as a teacher and musician. There he started pursuing music as a therapy, mixing world rhythms and western music.[3]

    In he released 'Music To Disappear In' which sold over , copies.[4]

    In , Raphael moved to Maui, Hawaii, and married Swiss-born psychotherapist Kutira Decosterd. They founded the Kahua Hawaiian Institute, where they perform musically and teach Oceanic Tantra.

    Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino[a] (Italian:[raffaˈɛlloˈsantsjodaurˈbiːno]; March 28 or April 6, &#;&#; April 6, ),[2][b] now generally known in English as Raphael (RAF-ay-əl, RAF-ee-əl, RAY-fee-, RAH-fy-EL),[4] was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance. His work is admired for its clarity of form, ease of composition, and visual achievement of the Neoplatonic ideal of human grandeur.[5] Together with Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, he forms the traditional trinity of great masters of that period.[6]

    His father Giovanni Santi was court painter to the ruler of the small but highly cultured city of Urbino. He died when Raphael was eleven, and Raphael seems to have played a role in managing the family workshop from this point. He
