Emmy Award-winning screenwriter/producer and WGA member who wrote the multibillion dollar franchise, High School Musical, High School Musical 2, and High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Mr. Barsocchini’s has sold scripts to Paramount, HBO, Intermedia, and Beacon Films, among many others.

I’ve been a professional writer since the age of 14, starting at a local newspaper, blandning in magazine journalism, books (both fiction and non-fiction) and ultimately into my career as a screenwriter. The diverse writing background allows me to write film and television that varies from action genre all the way to musicals, so no matter what your area of interest we’ll share some common ground. Peter Barsocchini is an American screenwriter, author, former journalist, and television producer best known for his scripts for the High School Musical series.
Early life and education
[edit]Barsocchini was born in San Francisco, California. He attended Junípero Serra High School in San Mateo, California and graduated in He began his professional writing career while attending high school in the San Francisco Bay Area, writing more than columns about popular music for The San Mateo Times. He also worked as a freelance reporter for the Associated Press and the San Francisco Examiner, and contributed reviews to the Associated Press and Rolling Stone. Barsocchini graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in creative writing.
