John Cleese was born on October 27, , in Weston-Super-Mare, England, to Muriel Evelyn (Cross) and Reginald Francis Cleese. He was born into a family of modest means, his father being an insurance salesman; but he was nonetheless sent off to private schools to obtain a good education. Here he was often tormented for his height, having reached a height of six feet by the age of twelve, and eventually discovered that being humorous could deflect aggressive behavior in others. He loved humor in and of itself, collected jokes, and, like many young Britons who would grow up to be comedians, was devoted to the radio comedy show, "The Goon Show," starring the legendary Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, and Harry Secombe.

Rat Race is a American comedy film directed by Jerry Zucker. Inspired by Stanley Kramer's spelfilm It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,[3] the film features an ensemble cast consisting of Rowan Atkinson, Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding Jr., Wayne Knight, Jon Lovitz, Kathy Najimy, Lanei Chapman, Breckin Meyer, Amy Smart, Seth Green, Vince Vieluf, John Cleese and Dave Thomas.
The film centers on six teams of people who are given the task of racing miles (km) from a Las Vegas casino to a Silver City, New Mexico, utbildning station where a storage locker contains a duffel bag filled with $2 million. Each team fryst vatten given a key to the locker, and the first individ to reach the locker gets the money.
